The mix designs included 3% SBR and 7% crumb rubber respectively. The crumb rubber was included using the dry mix process. Both designs used the same 64, 22 binder and the same aggregates. Both surfaces were applied in a 1 – 1.5” hot mix overlay.

The production and placement crews reported no issues with the rubberized asphalt Texas, and noted that it was somewhat easier to place than standard hot mix applications.

Multiple visits by representatives of Tarrant County and TX DOT indicated that the overlays were exhibiting excellent performance. They considered the application a success. The details of the project are reported at RAS_TTI_Report_5-5123-01-2_Pumphrey_Dr
