If you want to replace polymer modified binders with Asphalt+ additives, your binder modification costs can be reduced by up to 40%. With a properly set up injection machine, extra on-site labor involves periodic filling of the machine with Asphalt+ engineered rubber products. If you wish to replace terminal blended rubber modified binder with Asphalt+, the material savings will also run in the 25 – 40% range.
Asphalt+ engineered crumb rubber products are delivered to your site in 1.1 ton, pallet-mounted bulk sacks. The sacks are either delivered on a flatbed or in a van. The bulk sacks are tied closed on top and can be stored either inside or outside. The crumb rubber is transported by forklift to an injection machine set up to blow product through the RAP collar into the plant mixer. A loss-in-weight system tracks the feed of rubber and slaves the rubber in-feed rate to the binder pump, keeping the proportions of binder and rubber constant. The finished rubberized asphalt passes through the plant just like regular hot or warm mx asphalt, and the finished asphalt is transported and placed just like regular hot or warm mix asphalt. No special transport or placement equipment is required.

Extended field testing in the southeast, southwest and northern plains demonstrates the ability of Dry Mix crumb rubber modified asphalts to perform well in a range of environments. Interstate side-by-side comparisons of Dry Mix rubberized asphalt and polymer modified asphalt indicates comparable performance in both hot and cold climates over the full life cycle of pavement life. Testing on eight year old Dry Mix rubberized asphalt in Northern Indiana indicates strong resistance to thermal cracking in higher-use environments. Application of Dry Mix rubberized asphalt in a number of roads and parking lots in IN and IL over the past decade show no rutting or cracking issues.
